StyleWeekOC returns to Fashion Island for the shopping outlet’s 55th anniversary

Saturday is of The day you join Fashion Island at this year’s StyleWeekOC.
The weekend campaign kicks off Wednesday with a private fashion show at Neiman Marcus and heralds this year’s theme, “Layers of Luxury,” dazzling fashionistas with a look at the season’s hottest upcoming trends.
Through advocacy and volunteerism, the show benefited CASA OC, a Santa Ana non-profit organization that serves abused, neglected, and abandoned children. Leila Vovshori, the brand’s vice president of marketing, confirmed Friday that about 10% of sales made to CASA members at Neiman Marcus on Wednesday will be donated to nonprofits.

“The fall must-haves featured in the show were leather jackets, platform heels, bold color schemes and structured tailoring from top tier designers such as Prada, Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Versace and Valentino. “Fashion is all about self-expression and I hope this year’s show will inspire attendees to embody confidence and optimism through their clothing choices.”

Returning this year after a pandemic-related hiatus is a fashion and beauty panel hosted by Simply. On the lawn in front of Neiman Marcus he will be holding four panels, the first of which is scheduled for 12pm.His other three panels will continue until 4 p.m. at each new hour
Simply founder Sarah Boyd said her company has been in touch with Fashion Island throughout the pandemic. According to Boyd, this is her fourth time Fashion Island has collaborated with Simply for her StyleWeekOC.
“They liked what we were doing, so we had a really great partnership,” says Boyd. “Our panel was about kindness, connection, fashion, beauty, and creating content…it was a really organic partnership. We wanted to invite them into our space and create a community there, and by working together we were able to draw an audience and fan base to Orange County.

Boyd said this year’s panel began organizing in June, with a final selection of participants by August.
Speakers scheduled for Saturday include Josephine Skriver and Jasmine Tookes, co-founders of activewear brand Joja, as well as Sara and Erin Foster, co-founders of Favorite Daughter. It also includes many fashion and beauty professionals, influencers and TV personalities.The talks are free to attend, but you must register through Simply or through her website on Fashion Island.
“StyleWeekOC is a very important tent pole for Fashion Island. It’s the Orange County and Newport Beach fashion event that people look forward to every year. [Fashion Island] We invest a lot of time and resources. It brings the community together,” Boyd said. “Many people have moved to different places in their lives in the last two years, so you may want to find some inspiration to start a new business or come with a friend and learn about the latest trends.
“Personally, I know that I am always looking to improve and learn myself…we now know that people want to keep improving themselves in so many different ways. This is a great way to do that and connect,” she concluded.
StyleWeekOC continues until the end of Sunday.
The handbags shown at the runway fashion show will be carried for shoppers during the annual StyleWeekOC Kickoff Fashion Show hosted by Neiman Marcus at Newport Beach’s Fashion Island.
