These initiatives are designed to improve key drivers of health, including access to healthcare, food, housing, transportation, technology, and workforce training and development.

Improving access to care

Novant Health continues its commitment to improving access to care by placing providers in communities that need it most, including:

• Opened two Novant Health Michael Jordan Family Medical Clinics Charlotte, North Carolinaplanning two more WilmingtonNorth Carolina.
• Expanding modern women’s obstetrics and gynecology Winston Salem, North Carolinato provide primary care services.
• Deploy mobile health units in preferred zip codes across markets to facilitate access to primary care, including mammograms, vaccines and screenings.
• Place community health workers in access clinics to connect patients with community resources and address social determinants of health.

Investing in the community

Novant Health provides philanthropic support for community-based programs that address identified health and social needs that are essential to the well-being of each community, including developing healthy communities and expanding opportunities through education. By 2022, Novant Health will be nearly $2 million Charitable donations to community partners across our footprint.

Supporting financial liquidity

Novant Health supports the upward mobility of both Novant Health team and community members through programs designed to improve professional growth opportunities. These days, these programs include:

• By establishing statewide endowed scholarships in nursing and related health, students have the opportunity to pursue an education in a variety of medical fields.
• Expand the Upward Mobility RN Educational Assistance Fund to team members across the Novant Health system. The fund provides prepaid nursing school tuition and fees for up to two years and licenses as registered nurses. Participants will be given the flexibility to work a shorter schedule and meet their academic requirements without reducing their current compensation and benefits. You will also be paired with a mentor for career coaching.
• Launches Bridges to Healthcare, Novant Health’s first paid program aimed at helping educate high school students and graduates, providing early exposure to healthcare careers. The program is expected to involve up to 180 participants over three years.
