80% of ChiS&E students major in science, computer science and engineering at university.

Hosted by Chicago Pre-College Science and Engineering Program (ChiS&E) Orientation and registration sessions for free programs in Mathematics, Science, Engineering, Computer Programming, Advanced Robotics, Chemistry and Physics this Saturday, September 17th at Kenwood Academy. The program is designed to prepare historically underrepresented African American and Latino students to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). , was started 12 years ago. ChiS&E’s special team-building approach fosters collaboration between parents and teachers, engaging both students and parents in hands-on science and engineering activities. Grade-level programs are specifically designed to develop mathematics concepts as early as kindergarten. Additionally, the program hosts sessions with his STEM role models from a variety of disciplines, including scientists, mathematicians, university presidents, and NASA engineers. More than 90% of ChiS&E students surveyed said the program had a positive impact on their learning process. The mission of the Chicago Pre-College Science and Engineering Program (ChiS&E) is to educate historically underrepresented Africans who are motivated and academically prepared to pursue careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). to increase the number of American and Latino students. In addition to Saturday programs, ChiS&E offers several summer programs.Includes: 4-week summer program for Rising 6^th 7^th and eight^th Langton Hughes Elementary School Year 1 (Math – Algebra, Engineering – Bots, Raspberry Pi – Computer Programming), 2 Week Summer Program for Age 9+^th and 10^th There is a sophomore year at the University of Illinois at Urbana focused on engineering problem solving and a two-week summer program at the University of Notre Dame focused on math and engineering.
