‘Super/Natural’ proves scientific fact is stranger than fiction
Nature is wonderful, fascinating, and sometimes even a little scary. It is amazing the unique ways that different creatures and organisms have evolved and the amazing (albeit sometimes very bizarre) adaptations that have been developed to enable them to function and thrive within their environments. I have.
Super natural
Nat Geo reveals some of the distinctive abilities of various creatures in a new series called “Super/Natural”. Produced by James Cameron and narrated by Benedict Cumberbatch, the series combines cutting-edge filmmaking techniques with the latest scientific innovations to reveal the extrasensory and ‘secret powers’ of extraordinary creatures. .
We spoke with Tom Hugh-Jones, Executive Producer of “Super/Natural,” to explain the motivation behind the series and what viewers hope to get out of it. . Hugh-Jones explains: I think it’s easy to dismiss animals and plants as sort of primitive or rudimentary, but the more I look into them, the more I realize they have a sort of alien-like intelligence. ”
He continued, “We wanted to show people what they couldn’t immediately see or understand, to guide them and explore the hidden powers of these superpowers: animals.”
Definition of Supernatural
The title of the series is a play on the word “supernatural”. The word is used to describe things like ghosts and extrasensory perception, and is used by many to mean anything that defies or exceeds the laws of nature.
In my opinion, the valid part of the word “supernatural” is the “natural” part. I do not believe that anything that appears supernatural has defied or violated the laws of nature. Occam’s razor suggests that perhaps these phenomena are in fact part of the natural order and operate within the laws of nature, but our limitations to those laws are It’s just beyond my understanding.
I have always been intrigued by the diversity of creatures and organisms in nature and the way life evolves to adapt traits and abilities that are uniquely suited to survival. A unique functional match implies a higher presence, some level of intent by intelligent design.
I prefer the explanation provided by Stephen Hawking in his book The Grand Design. I’m paraphrasing, but in essence, evolution and natural selection boil down to all the explanations you need. Not because someone or something designed them that way, but because that’s the only way they can continue to survive and thrive as a species.
Regardless of what you believe or why, I think most people would agree that these creatures and their abilities are amazing. You do a great job telling the story in a charming way. You can check out “Super/Natural” on Disney+.
