Schools across Los Angeles County are participating in $18 million in state grants over the next four years to connect underrepresented students to careers in health and technology. His five California State Universities in the area will be part of the LA Area K-16 Joint Grant and will receive a $3 million grant. According to the Los Angeles Daily News.
Involved schools are required to achieve specific goals over a four-year period to ensure accountability as they work to build pathways and set up resources. The funding, facilitated by local nonprofit UNITE-LA, aims to address gaps in both education and the workforce caused by inequality and racism.
