The Faculty of Art & Design is looking for a full-time faculty member in fashion design.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned fashion industry designer with design leadership and experience in a segment of the industry primarily related to concept formulation and visual communication of fashion design development through both hand and digital applications.
Candidates must be versatile in combining professionally practiced hands-on illustration skills with the execution of original design sketches and cohesive design collections. The ability to successfully teach the core AAS fashion design foundation course by combining traditional and innovative methods is essential.
A minimum of six years of industry experience as a fashion designer is required, but the ideal candidate may have a minimum or above professional background.
Thorough knowledge of current successful fashion practices across several methodologies, understanding of market trends and utilization of emerging technologies are requirements for this position. Successful candidates should have excellent skills in teaching students to draw fashion, render fabrics, flat sketch and present design collections. Candidates will work with colleagues in their department to develop and implement a new curriculum.

Minimum qualification
Bachelor’s degree with 6 years of professional experience as a fashion designer. Candidates must present a strong fashion portfolio showcasing professional work that includes relevant press and/or industry recognition. Preferred Eligibility:
Master’s degree preferred.
At least 3 years of teaching experience at a higher education institution is desirable.
This position requires constant reading and comprehension, occasional calculations, constant oral communication, frequent analysis, and constant writing.
