Roanoke, Virginia (WFXR) — Dr. Cynthia Morrow, Director of the City of Roanoke and Allegany Health District (RCAHD), will share updates on multiple public health topics, including the coronavirus pandemic.

Morrow’s latest briefing comes two weeks after the last virtual update, but you can read the data shared by the health district on Tuesday, August 23 below.

In an update last week, health officials reported that RCAHD is experiencing high but steady levels of COVID-19 activity, with an increase in total hospitalizations.

Meanwhile, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says Botettoute County, Craig County, City of Roanoke, Roanoke County, and Salem all have “high” COVID-19 community transmission levels, while Allegany and Covington counties currently have “moderate.” level. Thursday, August 25th.
