Kalman, Ara. – Cullman County Schools recently received a donation from Cullman’s law firm, Griffith, Raleigh & Mehague. A donation worth $3,000 was designated for use by the school system’s special education programs to purchase sensory equipment.
“These kits are helpful for students struggling with issues related to anxiety, ADD, ADHD, and autism,” said Lana Tew, Special Education Coordinator, CCBOE.
Each sensory kit includes items such as finger fidgets, weighted wrap pads, stretch putty, water beads, motion timers, elastic strings and brushes, and sensory swings.
“Partnerships like this with local community businesses are one of the things that makes Cullman County great,” said Dr. Shane Burnett, Superintendent of Cullman County Schools. “He would like to thank Griffith, Lowry and Meherg for investing in the special education program. These resources will be put to good use to help students overcome their challenges.”
Attorney Trent Lawry said, “We at Griffith, Lawry & Meherg are grateful for the wonderful local public schools in the Cullman area.” We have produced many outstanding citizens who are our customers and we are honored to be able to give back to our local schools and look forward to continuing to do so.”
