We’re nearing the end, but there’s a silver lining — the seasons are starting to change, so it’s an excuse for a new wardrobe. And the best part is you don’t even have to break the bank to do it. NIKITA is the founder of WINSTON-SALEM FASHION WEEK and Swap and Style teaches us how to get quality clothes at quality prices during her events. Welcome, Nikita. Nikita: Hello. Thank you for calling me. Audrey: For those who don’t know, what is the “Swap and Style” event?NIKITA: This is his second year running the event. Last year was a huge success. It’s a two day event. Even on day one, you’ll be brought in little-used apparel, accessories, shoes, and handbags. You trade with other fashionistas. you are not spending money You get quality merchandise and leave with a great wardrobe. You are leaving quality. THEY TWO – DAY 2 is his discussion panel focused on sustainable fashion. He has two stylists to help style the items he picks up. Audrey: How is this event different from last year? Nikita: We’re doing more styling this year. One strand is from Atlanta and the other is from Tennessee, showcasing the styles coming in for fall and helping you look your best – how to look your best without breaking the bank. Audrey: What do people need to do if they want to participate? Is there anything they need to know or bring? Nikita: Bring at least three new you — Rarely used apparel or accessories. Just register 3 and have fun. There are drinks, food and music. expect to enjoy. Look in your closet and see what you’re not wearing and share it with someone else who can use it. Audrey: Fast fashion is all the rage these days. We want things quickly. How does this event work to combat that? Talk about sustainability. Nikita: By participating in a swap event and drifting, you can prevent apparel from going to landfills and impacting productivity across the planet. You are sustainable and part of keeping that apparel in circulation. Where we know we are impacting the planet, we keep these clothing items in a loop and move them from hand to hand. and keep it out of landfills. Audrey: The event is September 17th and 18th. What else do you have planned for Fashion Week? NIKITA: We will be holding a fashion show from the 22nd to the 25th. Her DAPPER is among her five designers in Diamond Sponsorship.
