What you missed at Aritzia, Levi’s and more

Earnings season is almost upon us, and a few retailers included in Digital Commerce 360’s Top 1000 E-Commerce Retailers in North America list have already started reporting. Here’s the revenue recap you need to know this week. Learn more about income coverage here.
Aritzia Inc. (#209)
Aritzia reported that new revenue grew 13% year-over-year to $463 million in its first fiscal quarter of 2024. The most significant area of growth for the Canadian company was the United States, where revenue grew 22% year over year, in addition to an 81% increase. last year, the retailer said.
Aritzia has a ‘long growth streak’ in the United States, CEO Jennifer Wong told investors on a fourth quarter earnings call.
Active customers have doubled and conversion is also up, the retailer said, without adding more.
Net e-commerce revenue increased 12.5% during the period to $135.1 million. Online orders accounted for 29.2% of net sales in the first quarter.
Gross profit was $180 million in the quarter, down slightly from $181 million in the first quarter of fiscal 2023.
Levi Strauss & Co. (No. 187)
Levi’s reported revenue fell 9% year over year to $1.3 billion in its fiscal second quarter.
E-commerce net revenue increased 20% during the period, the denim company reported. The growth was due to higher traffic and conversion rates, according to CEO Chip Bergh.
The retailer just completed a digital fulfillment center for East Coast Kentucky orders, with plans to begin shipping from it by the end of July.
“Overall, our digital and e-commerce businesses remain underpenetrated compared to their peers, and the channel represents a tremendous sales and profit opportunity for the company,” Bergh said.
Nike Inc. (#9)
Nike increased its revenue by 5% in the fourth quarter to $12.83 billion. Online sales increased 14% in the quarter and 24% for the year. Nike’s online sales accounted for just over a quarter of fiscal 2023 sales (26%).

Ritual Aid (#123)
Revenue was $5.7 billion in the first quarter of 2024, compared to $6 billion a year ago. Net loss was $306.7 million in the period, compared to $110.2 million in fiscal 2023.
Drugstore retail revenues increased 3.4% and comparable store sales increased 8.4%.
Rite Aid has not shared any specific e-commerce sales information.
