“E-commerce was old and hard to sell. Gaming has been around forever and social gaming has grown during Covid. There are 3 billion gamers and even more avatars. Rinat Homossany Perry, CEO and co-founder of StyleCluless, explains why the company decided to shift to gaming: “Especially in the world of social gaming, avatars need to look good. It’s not a version of who you are, it’s a version of who you want to be.”
Founded in 2018, StyleClueless is an AI-powered clothing recommendation platform aimed at decentralizing the shopping exploration. “There are a lot of creators, there are legacy brands like Nike and Gucci, and a lot of clothing, so we guide gamers. With over 50 million options per game, it’s easy to get lost. Gamers (especially Gen Z) have no patience, so StyleClueless basically says to them, ‘Let us inspire you and guide you,'” explains Homossany Perry.

Homosunny Perry started his career as a fashion designer and stylist. She then moved to Singapore for her 6 years where she was introduced to AI and her ML. “In Singapore I joined an amazing data scientist and together we created a rule-based algorithm that knew how to take items and match them with other options. Then we did a POC with a Singapore-based company, and we gave them an iPad and every time someone walked into the store and picked out an outfit, they got more combinations. and added promotions such as buy 2 get 1 free etc. We did an A/B test and found that everyone else in stores that sell our products took advantage of the offer and other We found our stores had little success with promotions, and then Covid hit and we had to pivot.”

“We have many companies that want to work with us, starting with names like Paris Hilton and Robrax. We can take 2,000 items and offer a more personalized shopping experience, including retention. As new items come out, we can offer them to gamers,” said Homossany Perry.
When asked about the future, Homossany Perry talks excitedly about Web3. “Who decides trends? Until now, it was a fashion council of legacy brands. We’re decentralizing – there’s no longer a council to decide what the new trends are.”
When Homossany Perry was asked what advice he would give to his fellow founders, he was quick to respond. At the time, we had the ability to match 100 of his items, but they wanted 10,000 of his items, so I said no. Either way, it would have taken time to close the deal. My tip is to always say yes and work out the rest later with the right people. The world is waiting for no one. ”
