The Waco NAACP will host a candidate forum live via Zoom conference call on Monday at 6:30 pm.
Politician candidates for the Texas State Board of Education, Texas House of Representatives, McLennan County Commission Court, Magistrate, District Attorney and Constable are expected to attend.

Girl Scout STEM Event
The Girl Scouts of Central Texas is hosting a free Discover Girl Scouts event on Tuesdays from 5:30-7:30 pm at the Girl Scouts Waco Service Center (3700 W. Waco Drive).
Themed “STEM-tastic Experiments”, it introduces Scouts and would-be Scouts to new adventures in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.

Medicare class
Medicare education classes for those new to the program or soon to qualify will begin at 9:30 am on Tuesday at Area Agency on Aging, 1514 S. New Road.
This class also covers Social Security, Supplemental Insurance, Medicare Advantage Plans, and Medicare Part D.

Online voting for fundraising
Creative Waco, an arts nonprofit, wants to get Waco residents to vote online for the chance to fund a live concert series at the city’s Bridge Street Plaza amphitheater.
Waco is one of 36 cities and the only Texas to participate in the voting rounds for this year’s Levitt AMP Grant Awards.
The top 20 cities with the most votes will advance to the final selection round of 10 winners announced on November 15th. If Waco wins the grant, he will receive $90,000 over three years to undertake the concert series.
