Many of us focus and lavish on our clothes because we think our appearance speaks for itself, yet few realize the horror our actions pose to the planet. Hmmm. has wreaked havoc in Pakistan, and I’ve thought about it a lot.

Granted, it’s not the only factor, or even the main factor, but I think the surge in fast fashion in Pakistan has exacerbated the climate change phenomenon, actually causing excessive rainfall and associated flooding.

International brands are doing a lot of damage to the country because they manufacture their goods in Pakistan. From exploiting workers by paying extremely low wages to consuming water and disposing of hazardous waste, simple commerce costs the country a lot. The world of local brands is no different.

Apart from harming the environment, fast fashion is also damaging psychologically. Most of us are hoarders, but since everyone else is, others are trapped. It’s time to make sustainable fashion choices while caring for the planet and ourselves. I think that came
