Copper is attached to surfaces such as Science World exhibits (Hangtime, Heart Drum, Electric Hand), front door handles, and entry counters. The installation will create an additional layer of protection for the approximately one million guests who visit Science World each year. This is due to copper’s unique antibacterial properties proven to be effective in eliminating up to 99.9% of harmful bacteria within 2 hours of contact.
Teck is also a presenting sponsor of Science World’s Geology Science Exhibit. The exhibit will include new interactive and educational displays to help visitors discover how metal is used in everyday life, from the smartphones we use to the bridges we drive on. I’m here.
The exhibit complements Science World’s focus on STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Design, Mathematics) and encourages future generations to enter these fields.
This partnership is the latest in a series of initiatives undertaken through Teck’s Copper & Health program to expand the use and awareness of antimicrobial copper in BC hospitals, higher education institutions, and public transportation in Vancouver and Toronto. is.
