Stars, they’re just like us.
They wear Halloween costumes and post them on Instagram.
While there’s a whole lot going on in the world, actors, singers, rappers and TV personalities from New Jersey did not miss the chance to enjoy a bit of seasonal fun and play dress up.
Here’s a roundup of 2023 Halloween looks from Jersey celebrities … and some costumes from famous people who took inspiration from N.J. icons.
Clifton’s Rachel Zegler showed off her costume at Heidi Klum’s annual Halloween party in New York Tuesday night.
Zegler, a Golden Globe-winning actor who made her film debut as Maria in Steven Spielberg’s “West Side Story,” stars in the upcoming movie “The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes” and is Disney’s Snow White in the live-action remake due in 2025.
The actor, 22, is celebrating her two-year anniversary with boyfriend Josh Andrés Rivera, 28, her co-star in both “West Side Story” and “The Hunger Games.”
Zegler and Rivera took photos with Zegler’s dog, Lenny, before heading out to Klum’s party. Their group costume embraced a “Scooby-Doo” theme, with Zegler as Daphne, Rivera as Fred and Lenny as Scooby.
Married couple Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr. played Daphne and Fred in the 2002 movie “Scooby-Doo.”
Zegler and Rivera posed on the red carpet, their red and blond wigs shining for the cameras.
Edgewater’s Ice-T and Coco Austin were also guests at Heidi Klum’s Halloween celebration.
Ice, aka Tracy Marrow, a gangsta rap pioneer and longtime “Law & Order” star who was born in Newark and grew up in Summit before moving to Los Angeles, went with an old-school gangster aesthetic that included a black pinstripe suit and white tie.
Ice, 65, was joined by his wife in the theme.
Austin, aka Nicole Marrow, 44, wore a skimpier costume, complete with fishnets and feather detail.
Their 7-year-old daughter, Chanel, dressed up as Marie Antoinette.
Superstar actor and singer Halle Bailey didn’t just deliver a pitch-perfect Whitney Houston look for Halloween — she shared several Whitney Houston looks.
Bailey, 23, who starred as Ariel in Disney’s live-action “The Little Mermaid,” posted a selection of Houston-inspired costumes.
First, there was Whitney’s white tank top look from her 1987 album “Whitney.”
Bailey also dressed up as Whitney in her Bobby Brown era.
Her boyfriend, DDG, rapper, singer and YouTuber Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr., 26, played Brown.
As “Nippy and Bobby,” they recreated some of the couple’s famous photos, like when Whitney and Bobby were both clad in red at the Billboard Awards, and wearing jeans for a loving embrace.
Jersey’s own Kelly Ripa enlisted “Jersey Shore” stars Snooki and JWoww for the Halloween special on “Live with Kelly and Mark.”
While Ripa wore many costumes for the show, “The White Locust: Seaside Heights” (see video below) is its “Jersey Shore”-flavored sendup of the hit HBO series “The White Lotus.”
In the sketch, Ripa, 53, who grew up in Berlin, Camden County, plays a character based on Tanya, the “White Lotus” role that won Jennifer Coolidge an Emmy. She tries to check into the hotel, but only the “smush room” is available.
Amenities: Gym, tanning and laundry.
She finds Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi and Jenni “JWoww” Farley partying in a local club.
Snooki even delivers her signature line from the 2009 premiere of “Jersey Shore” — “party’s here!!”
Ripa’s character, who is joined by a Boardwalk dweller played by her husband and co-host Mark Consuelos, 52, uses the show’s duck phone to send an important message:
“These meatballs are trying to kill me!”
“Where’s the beach?” she asks later in the sketch, echoing another of Polizzi’s famous refrains.
Speaking of Snooki, Polizzi, 35, also shared her family’s group costume.
The “Jersey Shore Family Vacation” regular, who lives in Florham Park, dressed up as a smiling spider, though she says she’s “arachnophobic.”
Her husband, Jionni LaValle, 36, was a fly.
Polizzi’s youngest son, Angelo, 4, was also a spider, as was their dog.
But her two older children, daughter Giovanna, 9, and son Lorenzo, 11, went as Harley Quinn and the Joker.
One of Polizzi’s “Jersey Shore” co-stars also found Halloween inspiration in the movies.
Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino went with a “Scarface”-inspired costume for Halloween.
Sorrentino, 42, shared a photo of himself dressed as Tony Montana from the 1983 film directed by Newark native Brian De Palma.
But instead of the piles of cocaine seen with star Al Pacino in the film, the “Jersey Shore” star, who has struggled with drug addiction and is famously sober, surrounded himself with piles of Halloween candy.
Actor Jason Mewes, aka Jay of Jay and Silent Bob, shared his family’s group costume.
Mewes, 49, who grew up in Highlands and has co-starred with Kevin Smith in the director’s movies — first “Clerks” and most recently “Clerks III” — dressed as the Joker.
He went with the smudged makeup associated with Heath Ledger’s incarnation of the Batman villain.
His 8-year-old daughter, Logan, was Harley Quinn, and his 8-month-old son, Lucien, was a baby Joker. Mewes’ wife, producer Jordan Monsanto, preferred to stay out of Arkham Asylum.
Actor Danielle Pinnock, who plays Alberta in the very Halloween-appropriate CBS series “Ghosts,” has been earning raves for one particular costume.
And it’s one she debuted well before Halloween.
Pinnock, 35, grew up in Teaneck and is known for her acting as well as her winning Instagram comedy videos.
Lately, she has been posting dispatches in which she is dressed as a cigarette-smoking, beret-wearing Parisian bedbug, inspired by the City of Love’s headline-making infestation.
She rolled with the theme for Halloween, sharing a new video of the bedbug’s adventures.
And the infestation is spreading.
Pinnock’s videos have been such a hit that they have inspired her followers to share their own Parisian bedbug looks.
TikTok star Alix Earle also showed up at Heidi Klum’s Halloween party.
Earle, 22, is an alum of Red Bank Catholic High School and daughter of Thomas “TJ” Earle, owner of the Earle construction company in Wall.
The social media influencer walked the red carpet as Jadis the White Witch from the movie “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.”
Tilda Swinton played the character in the 2005 film, which was based on the 1950 novel by C.S. Lewis.
But that wasn’t Earle’s only Halloween costume.
Earlier, she dressed up as a Jean Paul Gaultier cone bra-wearing Madonna.
Madonna wore the look as she performed the song “Express Yourself” on her 1990 Blond Ambition World Tour.
Earle mimicked the famous ensemble, sans wide-legged pants (see photos below).
