BUFFALO, NY (WIVB) — The Buffalo Museum of Science celebrated Hispanic Heritage Month on Sunday.
The Hispanic Heritage Council has gone to great lengths with cooking demonstrations to create traditional Spanish dishes. There were also salsa lessons for those who wanted to move their bodies. This was also how she funded her $10 million center at the Hispanic Heritage Cultural Institute.
“We are in the process of creating a Hispanic Heritage Institute unlike anything we have seen here in western New York. Providing a place where people can feel their heritage and where others can learn about it is the most important thing you can do. One of the things is to teach history and teach people about people, said Maritza Vega, vice president of the Hispanic Heritage Council.
The Hispanic Heritage Cultural Institute is expected to open within two years. Click here for more information.
