Marshfield Health Center Dickinson Hosts Employee Appreciation Picnic
IRON MOUNTAIN, MI (WLUC) – Marshfield Health Center Dickinson hosted an employee appreciation picnic on Tuesday.
About 800 people work at Marshfield Health Center Dickinson.
“The Marshfield Medical Center Foundation donated funds for this outdoor event on behalf of our employees in recognition of their efforts to serve our community over the past few years.”
Nelson said this was the first large gathering of outside staff since the pandemic began. He added that they have overcome many obstacles in the past few years.
“Even just getting through COVID-19 is reason to celebrate,” Nelson said. “We have done a great job being able to recruit staff, which has been a challenge for many healthcare organizations today in this challenging environment we are facing.”
Nelson said there are still 30 to 40 open positions. He also said staff are celebrating his six months of integration from DCHS to Marshfield.
“We have been involved in many initiatives to align our facilities here with the larger Marshfield Proper entity,” said Nelson. “We aim to bring new partnerships and services to this community like never before.”
Staff enjoyed carnival-themed food, including burgers and corn on the cob. Dunk Tank was also part of the event. Even TV6’s Clint McLeod got dunked.
Nelson hopes to make the outdoor picnic an annual celebration, while also holding regular events to strengthen team bonding.
