IONIA — Thread, White and Blue Boutique and Mane Stage Salon and Spa are collaborating on Saturday’s fashion show at Ionia Expo just after noon.

The fashion show will help showcase all of the unique apparel for Wale in boutiques, as well as the hair and make-up skills of the Manetage Salon staff.

The family-owned clothing store has been open for less than a year. In general, Ross described the boutique’s clothing style as “dressy but casual”, adding, “We don’t do grunge!”

“We curate and curate all our clothes ourselves,” said Weaver. “We basically stock a little bit of everything.

“We hope this fashion show will be a good opportunity for people of all ages to see what we have and how we pair it with our clothes,” continued Ross.

A hairdresser at the Mane Stage Salon & Spa (309 W. Main Street) does hair and makeup for models during the fashion show. Salon owner Ashley Shattuck said this year will be a “natural” look in the world of hair and makeup.

“We have models in their 20s to 50s, so they don’t all have the same look, but ‘natural’ is like a bohemian (bohemian) look,” Shattuck explained. “We just want to make sure women feel good and comfortable so we can show them what’s stylish and what kind of fall brings us.”

During the expo, the salon will sell styling products from many well-known brands.

“We are really looking forward to this,” said Shattuck. “We have always wanted to put on a fashion show and are very excited to partner with local stores. Hopefully we can do this every year or again in the spring.”

The fashion show will be held during the Ionia Expo block party from 12:10pm to 12:30pm.
