Higher Education and Technology Leader Named to Vermont Technology Council

BURLINGTON, Vermont (September 16, 2022) – Five veteran leaders with expertise in education, business and innovation joined the Vermont Technology Council.
Alex Hernandez, President of Champlain College. Lindsay Kurrle, VT Secretary of Commerce and Community Development. Mark Analmo, President of Norwich University. Kirk Dombrowski, Vice President for Research, University of Vermont. Pam McKenzie is a continuous technology executive, nonprofit leader and council member.
Greater Burlington Industrial Corporation (GBIC) Chairman and President Frank Coffi said:
New council members join GBIC President Frank Cioffi, Vermont Employees’ Credit Union (VSECU) CEO Robert Miller, and PC Construction Chairman Dr. John Evans.
With support from Gov. Phil Scott’s administration and the University of Vermont, the council is committed to building a stronger and more sustainable ecosystem for Vermonters by supporting science, technology, innovation and entrepreneurship. It is working. The council facilitates networks that bring together research from Vermont entrepreneurs, colleges, universities, and government.
Going forward, the Council will focus on four goals: Workforce Development, R&D Pipeline, Innovation Culture, and Infrastructure to support major efforts on:
Technology and Innovation Policy (Vermont Science and Technology Program, Vermont EPSCoR, UVM Engagement Office, Vermont Technology Alliance)
Entrepreneurship in Higher Education (UVM ARC Program, Student Internship)
Startup and ecosystem events across Vermont communities (VCET, TechJam)
Increased STEM Resources and Programs in K-12 Education in Vermont (Vermont Academy of Scientists and Engineers)
