Everton announces new head of sports science
Everton have appointed Jack Naylor as their men’s first team sports science chief.
Naylor will manage the sports science delivery for Frank Lampard’s team and will work closely with other First Team divisions overseen by Football Director Kevin Selwell.
Naylor has extensive experience in elite-level sport and joined Everton after 15 months as Head of Sports Science at Bundesliga club RB Leipzig.
Before moving to Germany, he held the same role at Celtic for nearly five years, working regularly with former Blues manager Carlo Ancelotti at some of Europe’s top clubs.
Among them were the first-team sports scientist/conditioning coach of Real Madrid and the sports scientist of both Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea.
Naylor holds a Master’s degree in Strength and Conditioning and degrees in Sport and Exercise Science, Physiology, Nutrition, Education, Psychology, Biomechanics and Sports Medicine.
