Open House is a small independent charity that aims to transform people and places through arts and cultural activities. Based in the seaside town of Bangor (recently designated city), Northern Ireland, with annual festivals, a year-round program of events, and venues dedicated to music and arts inside the restored Court House , spearheading the grassroots movement for arts-led regeneration. This is a three-year fixed contract funded by the Dormant Accounts Fund NI and administered by the National Lottery Community Fund. After the contract period ends, you may become a permanent resident.
role description
Your job is to develop and execute an ambitious digital marketing strategy. “Like a stick of rock,” this strategy permeates the entire organization, drawing from and impacting everything we do. you will:
• Develop an authentic and persuasive voice at open houses and court houses
• Involve our creative community in the developing life of the venue
• Tell the story of the Open House and its various projects and series of activities
• Share the story of this wonderful historic building and its new role in the development of the town’s cultural life
• Effectively promote our activity program to develop an audience and generate income
• Market rental property in Court House – 3 flexible indoor spaces, community kitchen and large partially covered outdoor space.
• Find new ways to communicate and work through innovation, partnership and collaboration.
Your role includes:
• Develop a dynamic social media presence with a strong author’s voice
• Increase your presence in digital media and news platforms
• Create compelling content – photos, videos, audio tracks, podcasts, interviews, case studies, feature articles.
• Work with graphic designers to ensure good design in all communications.
• Creation of a weekly digital newsletter
• Optimizing and integrating mailing lists, websites, ticketing platforms, and linking with other digital platforms;
• Explore customer loyalty schemes and merchandising opportunities
• Build digital partnerships with other creative partners such as broadcasters
• Develop sponsorship opportunities and partnerships
• Find new ways to connect with existing and new audiences
• Assist in the ongoing development of the organization’s strategic and operational plans.
You play a valuable role in evaluating our performance and impact by:
• Use digital tools to track and analyze demographics and behavior
• Listen to your audience by collecting and analyzing meaningful feedback
• Use robust data to share with funders and other stakeholders to serve as a model for local arts organizations and community asset transfers
Required skills and experience
• Ability to write clear, concise copy in a persuasive voice
• 2+ years of experience delivering successful digital marketing with well-defined success
• Extensive experience in social media and websites
• Good IT skills
• Good organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize and meet tight deadlines.
Desirable Skills and Experience
• Journalism experience
• Marketing strategy development experience
• Work experience/interest in an arts or music related environment
• Photo and video editing experience
• Budget control experience
