Owner and Head Coach of Sweet Science Fitness Boxing Club Marty Hill, once said, “If you give the sport of boxing a chance, it will change your life!” These words are true because I choose every day to pursue my passion for teaching sports in the Doraville, Georgia community and beyond.

11Alive reported that the city of Doraville presented Hill with a proclamation to mark National Black Business Month in August. The award recognizes the entrepreneurial ‘efforts’ that made the Sweet Science Boxing Club a ‘positive impact’ on the city after it moved seven years ago.

“One of our goals is not only to teach the sport of boxing, but the sport of life,” Hill said at the ceremony, adding that the recognition is also for the club’s young adults. accompanied Hill in accepting the honor.

In 2009, Hill transitioned from Corporate America as a successful Executive Search Consultant to embark on a journey to create the Sweet Science Boxing Club brand. That same year, she opened the first brick-and-mortar club offering unique training methods to Atlanta’s business her elite, corporate professionals, men, women, and children.

“The Sweet Science Fitness Boxing Club brand was established to teach and coach individuals who wish to learn the sweet science of boxing in the real sport of boxing without the fear or intimidation of injury.” Since then, teaching the sport of boxing to corporate professionals, competitive athletes, men, women and children has been my greatest passion and joy.”

National Black Business Month also celebrates resilience and milestones for Black businesses and entrepreneurs. While many businesses have been affected by the pandemic, Hill said the boxing club had to really work to keep it alive.
