However, Kanye West appeared on TV this morning in a paint-splattered outfit. i think i have a few I hope my droplets are in all the right places.

Naturally, I’m late. Kanye, at least he’s been wearing paint splatters since 2019. So the trend will be old hats. That’s the shade of his antique ball and his cap.
As for Kanye, if you asked me last week who he was, I would have answered that he’s a rapper with Kardashian ties. What I didn’t know. (I checked ‘maven’ to make sure it’s not gender restricted, it’s not. It comes from the Yiddish ‘meyvn’ in Hebrew ‘mebhin’. ‘who knows’ means.)
Kanye the Maven apparently has a clothing line and is opening a store in Atlanta. Don’t quote me, but I think that’s what he said.
Everyone calls him Kanye, so I call him Kanye instead of West.In fact, some people just call him “you.” He’s apparently set to join other celebs in one-syllable fame.

When deciding what to call Kanye, I tried to think of other celebrities named West. Most people who know Kanye probably don’t know May. their loss.
As for Kanye’s cap above, the bill was noticeably frayed.
If you find tips on how to scratch caps online, advice includes a cheese grater, scissors, seam rippers, and sandpaper. The cap will break if you are not careful. By the time you read how to do it all yourself, you’ll give up and pay extra for the right worn look.
Needless to say, sweat stains and dirt will not cause damage to the cap. I thought I’d say it anyway.
my theory:
For both caps and clothing, the main difference between the fashionable distressed look and the unfashionable distressed look is the element of deception. To pass, holes and frays and tears cannot reflect natural wear and tear. In other words, it is intentionally corrupted. Honest hard-earned holes and frayed edges just don’t cut it. It’s clear that you paid good money for your hole. Otherwise where is the status?
Ok, we all knew that, but I had never thought of it before.
That said, it’s a good thing for Kanye that his distressed, splattered outfit is affordable at a $20 store where everything costs him.
Once the look is affordable, what’s next?
It’s time for the next fad.
