About a week ago Robbie launched Design You, a fashion consulting business by Haley Roby.

She started her own business over ten years ago when she was involved in costume theater design while attending Alice Lloyd College, and has developed that passion over the past few years at the Owensboro Theater Workshop and Kentucky Wesleyan College. He says he rediscovered it.

Robbie, who has a 3-year-old in preschool and a 5-year-old just starting kindergarten, said he has time to pursue fashion consulting as a business venture.

Young or old, short or tall, rich or in need of money, Robbie is here to help everyone, she said.

“I’m here to help people feel confident in what they’re wearing,” she said. There are limits, for example if you’re a certain age you might not have the energy and patience to shop, if you’re younger it might be a budget issue. I’m about to come.

“Some people just want a wardrobe refresh. They may feel like they’re out of touch with their style and what looks good on them. Maybe you just think you can’t, or you’re just overwhelmed with internet shopping, etc. There are so many choices these days.”

Robbie has a way of making someone look good. She first submits a form to get an idea of ​​the person’s style. She then emails, calls, or meets in person to determine exactly what he or she needs.

The amount of time it takes depends on the client, she said.

“Some people like the first three things I sent, but I don’t want to go into details because time can be an issue. That’s fine too,” she said. “I’ve also done it remotely for friends and family, and I find something and email it. If they like it, send it back and I’ll give it back. That’s part of the service.” Department.”

On Friday, Roby met up with client Tricia Adams at the Bella Ragazza Boutique to try on an outfit they had been discussing a few days earlier.

“We’ve found some pieces here that we already know we like, so some of this just fits,” Robbie said. I might do something small, like move the button on the to make it fit.”

Adams said her wardrobe was nearly complete, but wanted Robbie’s advice on finishing touches.

“I have some great work, but I don’t have the item that holds it all together. She fills the gap for me,” Adams said. “That’s where Haley is really great.”
