Leading up to the Buffalo Bills’ preseason game against the Denver Broncos, we knew the potential for the Bills to make the show existed. Ultimately, much of the debate centered on head coach Sean McDermott’s decision to play the majority of the starters, while Broncos head coach Nathaniel Hackett chose to play the majority of the starting 22. Did…but this type of performance…in preseason? It’s fair to say that for most of the afternoon it felt like an NFL team playing against something other than an NFL team.

Plenty of kids’ day points

Pre-season is usually when teams work out issues ahead of important games. But rarely do NFL teams completely languish over a one-sided event such as the preseason. Sure, scores don’t count, and neither do all the fancy stats. As such, the disparity between these two clubs cannot be ignored.

Heading into halftime, the Bills were leading 28-6. Josh Allen was sent off early following a 3/3 performance for 45 yards and a sizeable touchdown toss to Gabe Davis. All eyes were on Keith Keenum, who was overwhelmed against the Indianapolis Colts last week. He put in an inspiring performance of his 192 yards and 1 TD on his 16/18. Keenum is his QB2 on this team and the Bills his Mafia should welcome his talent.

As a team, Buffalo had 26 of 29 yards for 302 yards, 2 TDs and no turnovers. Three incompletes among three quarterbacks. Wow. On the ground, he tallied 209 yards on 27 carries among five running backs and Matt Barkley. Zak Moss and Duke Johnson each scored a pair of TDs.

Buffalo scored a touchdown every time they had the ball in the first half. Not ideal for punting competitions, but Kids Day does not promise punting competitions. Finally, with just 8:00 left in the game, the Bills attempted a punt. They had to — and Matt Hark let no one down, pinning the Broncos deep into a 38-yard punt. rice field.

Depth of Days Displayed

It didn’t matter who was on the Bills’ field. The entire roster was too much for the Broncos. From a near-perfect first half to continued dominance, Buffalo seemed much more prepared and playing with tension. The roster decision will be the toughest yet for everyone involved.

McLeod went to the locker room for stitches after suffering a laceration to his face in the first quarter. He quickly returned to the sidelines and had a strong hit late in the fourth. It’s great to see his resilience.
