Machine Gun Kelly’s custom Dolce & Gabbana look-up, featuring these menacing long silver spikes throughout, begged the question…how would he sit at an awards ceremony?

At first glance, I thought it was Carrie Underwood in a barrage of Dolce & Gabbana gowns. , sparkly thin straps that fell off the shoulders, thigh-high slits. Take a closer look at the beautiful pastel prints…

Well done Carrie Underwood! I loved the muted shades against the pale pink background, which brought a more spring feel than most of the darker shades I’ve seen on the black carpet.

Kelly Rowland took a walk on the wild side in this Nicholas Gebelin treat for some serious drama. was included. This turned out to be a great opportunity to incorporate the over elbow gloves that are trending these days.

Another great example of the perfect use of gloves? Accessorize Becky G’s black Monsouri gown. The frock featured a high-low hemline and some fun structured details on the neckline.

Ellie Goulding brought some serious shimmer to the black carpet in this Philosophie di Lorenzo Serafini look plucked from the runway. We loved the detail of the floating sleeves that went from elbow to wrist. A high-waisted skirt completed the look, and strappy sandals cemented this look as a hit.

Bebe Rexha has been doing… a lot lately. Just look at this bright red Bull Runma disaster, complete with huge layered sleeves made of tulle, an equally busy skirt, and a giant train running behind her on the black carpet.Le in red leather The Silla shoes added to the monochromatic vibe, but it was broken down a bit by the look’s favorite styling element: a black belt trying to dominate with tulle.

Unfortunately, Bebe Rexha’s red gown wasn’t the only thing on the black carpet that night: Kali Uchis arrived in this custom Dilara Findikoglu design in satin, complete with her own train, as well. We added a busy red headpiece to the mix.

No! Sorry Tinashe, but this black and white mark of his Jacobs look landed on our list of misses. The star paired a white crop top with a low-waisted black skirt and added the accessory of the moment, gloves, to complete the disorganized and funky outfit. Check out her sunglasses next…

Just in case you weren’t sure who was responsible for Tinashe’s American Music Awards ensemble, it’s written on her sunglasses. The addition of Marc Jacobs wasn’t our favorite, but we did appreciate one element of her look!
