Beckley, W.Va. (WVVA) – Next month, the West Virginia University Institute of Technology in Beckley will host a fashion show fundraiser. The university will use the event as a means of raising funds for its athletic department to ensure its ability to continue competing and recruiting players at the national level.

The show is sponsored by the New River Gorge Regional Development Authority and features fashion created by West Virginia’s world-class designers.

Jen Wood, WVU Tech’s Executive Director of University Relations, said the unique approach to fundraising has only gained traction.

“This is the first signing event for athletics that we have been doing for over a decade, so everyone is very excited and it has been very well received by people on campus and in the community. Our community model is exciting, our sponsors are great and our retailers have done a great job just giving people the chance to do this.”

The Glam Night Out Fashion Show will take place at the Glade Springs resort on October 22nd. Here, members of the community serve as fashion models on the runway.
