Fellows of the US-Japan Science Communication & Policy Fellowship Network Program have been announced.
IRVINGTON, N.Y., Aug. 22, 2022 /EINPresswire.com/ — The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) Foundation is pleased to announce that the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University’s Center for Professional Development and Inclusive Excellence (C-HUB), Wilbury Theater Group, University of California Science to Policy, and the Japan Foundation.
Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) Foundation, Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University Professional Development Center (C-HUB), Wilbury Theater Group, University of California Riverside Science to Policy — – 1st event funded by the Japan Foundation Twenty-two fellows have been selected for the US-Japan Science Communication & Policy Fellowship Network program.
Based in Japan and the United States, the new fellows represent a wide range of scientific and research fields, from doctoral students to assistant professors and scientists. All were selected for their scientific achievements, commitment to strengthening U.S.-Japan relations, and their desire to effectively and strategically communicate scientific discoveries and research to policymakers and the public.
Through this program, young American and Japanese scientists will engage in bilateral training and exchange for effective communication toward strategic collaboration with policy makers. Selected Fellows will participate in a year-long cohort experience, receive training in communicating science-based policy to a wide audience, and improve their understanding of global issues by bridging critical gaps between science and policy. Promote meaningful cooperation between the two countries.
