About Joe Browns

Simon Brown started the men’s lifestyle brand Joe Browns in 1998. The brand’s distinctive apparel draws ideas from a wide range of sources. The business swiftly grew from its humble beginnings as a men’s lifestyle brand to include a women’s line, as well as a line of upbeat shoes and accessories. For the second year in a row, Joe Browns was named Best Royal Mail Catalogue in 2004.

Joe Browns finished 2006 in the 53rd spot of the Sunday Times Fast Track 100. They expanded their lines to include menswear and swimwear in 2010 and relocated to a larger workspace. Joe Browns debuted new Boutique collections in 2021, catering to customers that value unique, personalised style with a lot of character. The firm appointed Peter Alecock as CEO in 2022 and updated its logo the following year to guide future direction.

Formerly known as the Edge of the World store, Joe Browns established its first franchise location in Bowness-on-Windermere in 2023. The business had a bustling opening day, complete with a ribbon-cutting ceremony officiated by the Deputy Mayor.
