Last Monday, the Chautauqua Lake varsity volleyball team traveled to Rochester for the Gary Adler Memorial Tournament at Gates Chili High School along with 11 other schools. The Thunderbirds finished first in the pool along with Greece-Athena, Spencerport and Rush-Henrietta. In the gold bracket semifinals, Churchville beat him 29-27 after losing 11-20. In the final, he beat Hilton 25-17. It was the second year in a row that Chautauqua Lake won the tournament.
On Friday, the Chautauqua Lake JV volleyball team held their Summer Showdown tournament. After he finished first in the pool, the Thunderbirds beat Jamestown 25-16 25-10 in the semifinals and Gowanda 25-19 25-21 in the final. Callaghan Fairbank was named to the All-Tournament Team and Noriana Paddock was named Tournament MVP.
