Despite the news that Queen Elizabeth II had passed away just a week ago, (most of) the London Fashion Week shows were actually going on. And, as our duty, we’re here to report the shoes that stand out from the runway.
For Spring 2023, many British designers have turned to quirky and fun footwear. It was Knwls that kicked off fashion week, letting models wear sling-like square-toed mules and furry Uggs his ankles his boots. Chopova Lowena designs his duo completely avant-garde with Mary Her Jane shoes, fuzzy tinsel boots, and heeled her socks adorned with gummy resin charms. On JW Anderson’s coveted runway, models wore platform-heeled slides, sunset-printed slip-ons, and denim-his boots.
Other memorable footwear appeared at 16Arlington (chunky mules) and Nensi Dojaka (warm kitten heel sandals). Simone Rocha also revealed a number of new platforms adorned with dazzling beads and shimmering metallics.
