North Charleston, South Carolina (WCSC) – A science teacher at Fort Dorchester High School says learning new concepts is much easier when you can see what you’re learning about.

According to Kenda Szczesniak, using models is an important part of teaching molecules to students because molecules are too small to see.

For her Donors Choose project, Szczesniak wants a molecular modeling kit to help her students study the shape of molecules and the formation of bond molecules.

She says that by providing students with molecular modeling kits, they can visualize molecules and improve their understanding of this concept.

Szczesniak says any help she gets with her project will only improve her students’ learning.

“We appreciate anything our donors can do to support student education and make learning fun,” says Szczesniak.

In addition to the molecular modeling kit, Szczdxniak says her classroom also needs a balance and weigh boat for use in the lab.

She says it’s essential to give students the opportunity to use experimental materials.
