A study conducted by Rock The Rankings analyzed the social media profiles of leading figures in the SEO and digital marketing industry. This made him at Hubspot find Dharmesh Shah to be the most influential person overall, with the highest average follower count and engagement rate.
Four influential women on the list, including Pam Moore, Aleida Solis, and Julie Joyce, are signs of a more progressive development.
The digital marketing industry continues to evolve and the global market is estimated to be worth $786.2 billion by 2026. Additionally, the SEO industry is worth about $80 billion at current rates. It’s also a growing industry.
As these industries grow, so does career interest. This is backed up by Google Trends data showing that global searches for “SEO jobs” have increased by 76% for him in the last 12 months.
Weighted ranks provide some clues as to who the most influential people in the industry are based on Twitter and LinkedIn follower counts, tweet counts, engagement rates, and mentions.

Hubspot co-founder Dharmesh Shah tops the list with 1,036,649 Linkedin followers and over 296,000 Twitter followers. Shah was formerly the founder and CEO of Pyramid Digital Solutions, a software company. He has also published many books such as Inbound Marketing: Use Google to get found.
Second place goes to entrepreneur, investor and online marketer John Rampton. He is also the founder of online payments company Due and productivity company Calendar. He was recently named #2 in the world’s Top 50 Online His Influencers by Entrepreneur Magazine and Blogging Expert by Time.
Pam Moore, founder of digital marketing agency Marketing Nutz, was the third most tweeted person in the survey. Moore has made 134,776 tweets, providing advice and industry insights to her 285,548 followers.
Two SEO influential women made the top 10. Among them are her founder of Zen Media Shama Hyder, who ranked ninth, and Aleya Solis, international SEO consultant and founder of Orainti. Shama Hyder is the most popular on her LinkedIn with her 615,959 followers and Aleyda Solis has more of her Twitter followers (125,110).
Google Public Liaison Officer Danny Sullivan is also in the top five.

By delving into the most knowledgeable people in the industry, it aims to help those who want to keep up with the latest trends.”
