Nonprofit provides resources to support student mental health

JACKSON, Tennessee — Students face the threat of mental health problems, but one company is offering a program to ease the fight.
Dr. Laura Erickson-Schroth, Psychiatrist and Chief Medical Officer at The Jed Foundation, shared with us how we can embrace attacks when it comes to being mentally healthy. .
“The JED Foundation has resources for young people, their parents and educators to use back to school to help them prepare for an emotionally healthy back to school,” said Dr. Ericsson-Schloss. .
Dr. Erickson-Schroth said suicide is the third leading cause of death among young people aged 15 to 24. She says it’s important that everyone, especially young people, have the resources and the opportunity to reach out to trusted adults.
