Kids learning about STEM at Mississippi Science Fest
JACKSON, Mississippi (WJTV) – Thousands of people attended the final day of the Mississippi Science Fest. The purpose of this event is to promote careers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics within the state.
The annual Mississippi Science Fest brings massive crowds to the capital after having to scale back due to the pandemic.
“This year we are back, bigger and better than ever,” said Emily Hoff, executive director of the Mississippi Children’s Museum.
Families had the chance to check out 60 exhibitors spread across four museums in Jackson’s Lefleur Museum District.

Hosted by C Spire, this annual event aims to inspire families to explore STEM concepts through hands-on, educational and interactive exhibits.
“This event is very important to Mississippi because STEM is the future for many career paths. It represents huge growth and industry, from coding in the medical field to everything. , so exposure to different opportunities is invaluable,” Hoff says.
