WASHINGTON, DC – The American Chamber of Commerce Foundation is pleased to announce that Miranda Jones, Executive Director of the Galleon Crestline Area Chamber of Commerce, has graduated from the fifth cohort of the Premier Business Leadership Program. The Business Lead Fellowship Program trains leaders of state and local chambers of commerce, economic development agencies, and industry associations to provide them with the resources, access to experts, and networks of peers to address the most pressing educational and workforce challenges. Build your ability to meet challenges.
Sherrill Oldham, Senior Vice President, Center for Education and Workforce, said: “They understand better than anyone the crucial link between education and economic development, and we are pleased to support them in this important leadership role in their communities.”
After a competitive application and selection process, Jones was selected to participate in the program’s fifth class, along with 34 other state and local legislative officers and association leaders. Her one-year virtual program, ending with an in-person graduation ceremony on July 20, 2022, covered the entire talent pipeline including early childhood education, K-12, higher education, and workforce development.
“It was an honor to be chosen to represent Crestline and Garion at the national level,” Jones said of the experience. By working closely with schools and businesses, we can close the skills gap and add healthy workers to our communities.”
Jones is currently a Business Leads Fellow and joins the American Chamber of Commerce Foundation’s dedicated network of 200 chambers of commerce and statewide associations nationwide that regularly engage in education and workforce initiatives.
