JAGS beat St. Francis 3-2 in comeback fashion

Indianapolis – The IUPUI volleyball team fell behind 2-0 but won the last three sets to defeat St. Francis 3-2 in their home opener and opening match of the 2022 Hampton Inns Invitational.
Red Flash took the first two sets, 25-23 and 25-22. Jaggs totaled 10 kills in the first set and he scored four blocks, but lost his points free behind the service line on four errors. St. Francis recorded his aces as he served four in the first set. IUPUI improved his serve with seven aces in the second set, but he still lost 25-22 with Red Flash leading him 2-0.
Down 2-0, the Jags had 16 kills and 2 blocks to reduce service errors to just 3 and lead to a 25-18 third set win. IUPUI dominated the net with 18 kills against his 6 kills for St. Francis in the fourth set. The Jags recorded his six aces as he beat Red Flash 25-19 to draw 2-2.
The decisive fifth set came down the service line. Jags said he has 3 aces and match points Brooke Phillips.
Overall, Jug Out hit a red flush 63 to 43 and recorded eight service aces. Sophomore Briana Brown score 20 kills followed by Ally Pogue at 16 kills. Emily Allan When Mirai Madison 9 kills each.Alan and the new student Morgan Ostrovsky Recorded a batting average of .333.with Phillips Addie Evans Each scored three aces.Evans also led the defense with 35 digs followed by Phillips. Emma Ashcraft With 12 bargains.
IUPUI is 1-0 at the Hampton Inn Invitational and 2-2 for the season. They will face the Drake Bulldogs at 12:30pm and the Montana Grizz at 6pm to wrap up the Hampton Inn Invitational tomorrow.
