Dedicated to providing evidence-based education that prepares students to succeed in the real world, Hardin County Schools earns the EVERFI Empowered Seal each year, according to a news release.
The EVERFI Empowered Seal is a designation given to K-12 school districts and individual schools that have demonstrated exemplary commitment to all-child education using EVERFI’s comprehensive, evidence-based digital program. These programs inform and empower students on important issues such as financial literacy, social-emotional learning, health and wellness, inclusion, and college and career readiness.
Educating the whole child impacts not only how healthy, engaged and productive students are in school, but also their happiness and success well beyond K-12 years, according to the release .
The EVERFI Empowered Seal, now in its third year, recognizes public school districts that demonstrate exemplary commitment to comprehensive educational strategies on topics such as financial literacy, health and careers. This is the first time HCS has been awarded her Empowered Seal, according to the release.
“This is a real honor,” HCS Superintendent Teresa Morgan said in a release. “Our efforts to know the names and needs of all children help our staff ensure that their needs are truly being met. It’s exciting, and it’s even more satisfying to know that our students are loved, safe, and cared for when they’re with us.”
In addition to national recognition for their achievements, the Empowered Seal offers HCS students the opportunity to participate in the Empowered Seal Scholarship competition. 10 students will be selected as winners. Two students will win $1,000 scholarships and eight students will each win $500 scholarships. Contests are held in the fall and spring.
