Gucci’s Stanley Kubrick Tribute Combines Film and Fashion

The latest collaboration between Gucci and Adidas blends luxury fashion and sportswear to create something truly unique. The ‘Exquisite Gucci’ collaboration is featured in a campaign inspired by Stanley Kubrick, recreating scenes from his classic films. The Maison’s Creative Director, Alessandro Michele, has always envisioned presenting collections in a unique way that takes the nostalgia of old movies with a twist of modern luxury fashion.
Photographed by fashion photographer duo Mert Alas and Marcus Pigot, the Exquisite Gucci campaign collaboration features scenes from 2001: A Space Odyssey, A Clockwork Orange, Barry Lyndon, The Shining and Eyes Wide Shut. According to the fashion house, the collaboration “merges the emblem of the Maison with that of the iconic sportswear brand. The collection expands the sartor’s streetwear creations with a range of sport-inspired pieces.” , the traditions of both brands are coded into his three lines.”
The collection includes adidas’ iconic Gazelle sneaker reimagined by the Maison’s Creative Director to feature variations in velvet, snake print and the GG monogram. With a new vision of shoes, Alessandro’s reimagined designs focus on the future. Previous Gucci campaigns include the February 2022 “Love Parade” campaign. The campaign sees Alessandro showcase over 100 of his looks on Hollywood Boulevard, once again nodding to his love of cinema. The collection featured Jared Leto, Jodie Turner His Smiths, and Macaulay Culkin on the runway to showcase Gucci’s latest collection at the time.
But this isn’t the first time the legendary filmmaker has inspired his movie home page. It pays homage to Kubrick and was praised for its amazing homage to the legendary director.
