Getting the flu shot protects you, your family and your community. The CDC recommends getting your flu shot by October 31st of each year.
Registered veterans have several options for receiving a free flu vaccine this year.

COVID-19 vaccines and boosters

Influenza Vaccine – 65+
The Advisory Committee on Immunization (ACIP)/CDC voted this year to prioritize the use of high-dose or adjuvant influenza vaccines for people 65 and older.
Per CDC: “If one of these vaccines is not available at the time of administration, people in this age group should instead receive a standard dose of non-adjuvanted inactivated influenza vaccine.”

Through the VA’s Community Care Network (CCN), eligible veterans can also obtain free flu vaccines at retail pharmacies and emergency clinics within the network.
You can also get a COVID vaccination at the same time if you want. Flu vaccinations are available from CCN. September 1, 2022 finished April 30, 2023.
