TOPEKA (KSNT) – Lexington Park Assisted Living celebrated Assisted Living Week with a fashion show showcasing clothing from decades past to current trends.
Assisted Living Week is nationally recognized and begins on National Grandparents Day. This week is used to celebrate those who live and work in assisted living communities.
This year’s theme is “Decades”. Lexington Park residents and staff dressed up for the event. Participants dressed up in his 1950s attire.
“In short, Assisted Living Week brings awareness and enjoyment to our staff and residents. It’s a week to celebrate helping others,” said Tanya Trueblood, Director of Activities for Lexington Park Assisted Living.
The staff said that the best thing about the fashion show was the smiling faces of the residents.
