DD2 Receives State Grants for Art Education

Somerville, South Carolina (WCSC) – Dorchester District 2 has received more than $86,000 in state grants for arts programs.
The money will be used to fund new dance costumes, live performances, professional development, technology and instrument upgrades.
“All of our schools are very fortunate to have strong leadership and outstanding teachers who want to apply for these awards.” We are offering this money at, and I believe so, they plan to offer something better than regular arts classes to give students an enhanced experience.”
Schools to be funded include Alston Middle School, Ashley Ridge High School, Dubose Middle School and Somerville High School.
District educators were selected to receive grants for their strategic plans to incorporate the arts form.
