Council Highlights Upcoming Events Supporting Ruth’s House, Haverhill Education Foundation


This week, Haverhill City Council spotlighted two local charities seeking public assistance this fall.

The first Ruth’s House annual fundraiser is scheduled for Saturday, November 5, from 7-10:30 pm at Haverhill Country Club, 58 Brickett Lane, Haverhill. Ruth’s House Executive Her Director Amy Smith-Boden outlined the organization’s mission to councilors and the public.

“Ruth’s House is a non-profit organization that uses thrift stores as a place to provide clothing to the economically challenged and provide soft-skills vocational training to the chronically underemployed,” she says. explained.

Smith-Boden said the agency is also involved in many other programs, and additional business sponsorships and ticket sales are critical to meeting revenue targets. Tickets can be purchased at thrift stores, 111 Lafayette Square, Haverhill, or online at Ruthshouse.org.

The second event is the Haverhill Education Foundation’s Bingo Night fundraiser, scheduled for Saturday, November 19, at Haverhill Lodge of Elks #165, 24 Summer St., Haverhill.

“The Haverhill Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that has been operating since 1990. Our mission is to support Haverhill Public Schools projects and programs to increase student engagement and academic achievement. ‘ she said.
