Capito and Manchin Announce Funding for Higher Education Support Services in West Virginia

washington dc – Senate Appropriations Committee members Sen. Sherri Moore Capito (RW.Va.) and Joe Manchin (DW.Va.) today announced that West Virginia University (WVU) and West Virginia State announced that the ministry had donated $507,218. University (WVSU). This funding will support programs that provide campus-based child care services and enhance undergraduate teaching in international studies and foreign languages.
“Our institution of higher education in West Virginia provides first-class, accessible educational services to students in fields they are passionate about. This funding will expand WVSU’s international research arm. and supporting WVU’s on-campus childcare services helps keep this going.I believe that West Virginia colleges and universities need to create opportunities for students to succeed and grow. We will continue to advocate for resources.” Senator Capito said.
“The Department of Education continues to be an outstanding partner to West Virginia colleges and universities and is pleased with our continued investment in the state. We look forward to benefiting from these important initiatives, and will continue to advocate for educational outreach programs throughout the Mountain State.” Senator Manchin said.
Individual awards are as follows.
- $395,725 – West Virginia University: Access to Child Care Means Parent Participation in School Programs
- $111,493 – West Virginia State University: Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Languages
