Kris-Tech Hosts Hungry for Education Event

Rome – Wednesday might have been a little bleak, but it didn’t affect Kris-Tech’s Hungry for Education event at the copper wire maker’s Rome headquarters.
More than 40 vehicles lined up before the event, each carrying a sack of food to support the Roman Salvation Army. In return, parents, grandparents and guardians were given backpacks filled with school supplies such as folders, colored pencils, tissues, notebooks and even water bottles.
Throughout the day, vehicles drove through the event to drop off food and pick up school supplies. Students also received other school items based on their performance. Younger students were provided headphones, along with a COVID test donated by the office of State Senator Joseph Griffo. Older students were given pens and calculators.
“We love this community,” said Wendy Calabrese, HR Director at Kris-Tech. “That’s why we strongly believe in giving back to the communities where we work, live and play. I am happy to be able to do and help.”
