BANGOR, WI (WEAU) – At its August 17 meeting, the Bangor School District School Board decided to hold a capital or facility referendum on November 8, 2022.

According to a media release from Bangor School District, the referendum, if approved by voters, will address a critical need for the school district, which the district says it cannot address within its annual budget. The proposed referendum will focus on “addressing districtwide education and deferred maintenance priorities with proposed remodeling and addition projects in elementary schools, middle/high schools, and old school gymnasiums.” increase.

Bangor School District said in a media release that the school board has developed a comprehensive plan. The school board is asking voters to approve a referendum on her $24 million capital. Bangor School District said in a media release that approval of this capital referendum would result in an estimated tax increase of $60 annually and $5 per month for every $100,000 of property value. The capital referendum seeks to address both the educational and infrastructure needs of the entire school district.
