‘The Exchange Project’: High-End Fashion Swap Coming to Margate, New Jersey

Margate, New Jersey (WPVI) — It is often said that someone’s trash is someone’s treasure. To prove it, a major luxury retail recycling event will set up shop on the Jersey Shore this weekend.
‘The Exchange Project’ is your chance to bag what you don’t wear and go out with a whole new wardrobe.
Let’s be honest, we all love gently, even brand new items that take up space in our closets.
Bring it all to Margate this weekend for a morning of mimosas, shopping and exchanges so you can love all the new and fashionable things.
“The Exchange Project is what I call a luxury clothing exchange,” says founder Carly Ridloff. “It really feels like I’m shopping in my best friend’s closet. I’m adding new things to my wardrobe. Love them all, but I have a very rigorous editorial process.”
Ridloff started the “replacement project” a year ago after watching a documentary about fast fashion piled up in a landfill.
Her events give women the opportunity to organize and restock their closets in a sustainable and social way.
“We take shoes. We take accessories. We take bags. Whatever you want to go next,” says Ridloff. “If it doesn’t meet our criteria, we’re happy to donate it to the right person.”
In this case, the leftover items will be sent to the Street Love Foundation, which helps the homeless.
The event is this Saturday in Margate from 9am to 12pm.
When you sign up, you’ll see exact details.
Admission is $65 and all items are quality checked and styled. Start with as many items as you have in your inventory.
