Construction firms lag behind in adopting digital marketing

A survey found that 44% of construction industry professionals believe their business lacks the necessary skills to implement an effective digital marketing strategy.
A survey by digital marketing agency Koozai found that 33% of industry professionals believe their companies don’t have the time needed to properly oversee their digital marketing efforts.
Another barrier to effective digital marketing turned out to be budget, with 17% saying it was the biggest barrier for relevant departments of the business.
Only 6% of respondents cite a lack of buy-in for digital marketing by senior decision makers, but figures released by the UK Office for National Statistics show that 5.5 in the construction industry are now selling e-commerce. It’s just a %.
This compares with 22.8% in manufacturing and 48.3% in retail.
Koozai owner and director Sophie Roberts said: Without a remedy for this, the construction industry risks being left behind as the buying behavior of industry buyers and consumers continues to change. “
