In an exclusive clip shared to Hypebeast, Netflix delves into the meaning behind the fashion choices of its highly anticipated new animated series. Enter GalacticA project close to Kid Cudi’s heart and handpicked from behind man on the moonMulti-Hyphenate wanted to make sure this series wasn’t like any other animation you’ve seen before.

When it came to detailing the show’s fashion statement, Cudi confirmed that each character would be wearing something in a separate episode. Executive her producer Kenya Barris talked about how she ensured each character stayed true to current trends, from what season the shoes are from, to their aesthetics. It was important for the team to maintain a sense of presence so that the audience could perceive the timing of the scene.

Cudi specifically talked about how his late friend and designer Virgil Abloh was a big inspiration behind the animation’s fashion choices. He understood that Abloh’s footprint in the fashion industry extended beyond runways and retailers. explained that it was Enter GalacticCudi reiterates how integral Abloh’s designs were to telling the story, and how much his legacy continues to be explained.
