Football, pumpkin spice and flu shot. Autumn has arrived. That means it’s time to get your annual flu vaccine.
Getting an annual flu shot helps you stay healthy and is a great way to protect the Husker community from the spread of flu on campus. Here’s what you need to know to get the shot.
How long will it take?
Flu vaccinations are provided free of charge to all students currently enrolled in the University Health Center.
As a bonus, everyone who gets vaccinated at the health center during October will receive a complimentary chocolate brownie coupon that can be redeemed at the Tazza Coffee Express inside the health center. (while stock lasts).
How should I get the flu vaccination?
There are two methods:
- Visit our drop-in flu vaccine clinic for students. These clinics will be open October 5, 6, 7, 12, 19, 20, 21 and November 2, 3, and 4 from 9:00 am to noon and 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the University Health Center. will be held in Room 240 of The Campus Clinic will be held on Tuesday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to noon at his union in Nebraska East across from Starbucks. You must be 18 years of age or older to attend a flu vaccination clinic.
- Book a flu vaccination at the clinic. Call 402.472.5000 to make an appointment. Reservations are open to students of all ages.
What should I bring?
If you are 17 years old, your power of attorney is not valid until you turn 18. So drop-in he is not eligible to attend the clinic. However, you can get vaccinated by making an appointment for a flu shot at a clinic during normal office hours. At check-in, we will call the parent/guardian to obtain permission for vaccinations.
